The Australian Manufacturing Workers Union has a vacancy for a National Research Officer to work in industrial, legal and corporate research across the Union. The position can be located at the Unions National Office (Granville, NSW or Carlton South, Melbourne).

| Job Description: |
Responsibilities include:
providing industrial advice and information to officials, officers, organisers, delegates and members of the Union, as required; researching, monitoring and reporting industrial law developments; researching and reporting on issues affecting workers covered by the Union; preparing cases and representing the AMWU before courts and tribunals including the Australian Industrial Relations Commission; preparing submissions for internal and external inquiries; conducting corporate and industry research and preparing reports for officials and organisers as required.

| Experience & Qualifications |
| Essential: |
Highly developed research and advocacy abilities are required, and legal or other relevant qualifications would be desirable. Preferred applicants will have at least 5 years experience in Industrial Relations or a related discipline requiring research and advocacy skills.
Applicants must be strongly committed to trade unionism and the interests of workers in the manufacturing industry.
