Overview:

The Textile Clothing and Footwear Union of Australia,

Victorian Branch is seeking a new organiser to join our high energy, passionate, progressive organising team.

---
Job Description:

• Organise new members into the union

• Develop, educate and support workplace delegates and activists

• Assist members and delegates in the handling of workplace issues

• Assist members and delegates in the development and negotiation of enterprise agreements

• Represent members in negotiations with management over workplace issues

• Visit workplaces to check on pay and working conditions and OHS and to identify other industrial relations issues

• Develop and implement worker campaigns at a workplace, sector and industry level

• Audit company supply chains

• Prepare correspondence, reports, campaign and IR case material

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

„X Experience as organiser in a union or community context
„X Passion for the union movement
„X Ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds
„X Experience working with migrant and non-English speaking background communities
„X Drivers Licence
„X Experience in activists campaigns
„X Ability to both work independently and as part of a team
„X Capacity to work irregular working hours
„X Community language a plus.
