Overview:

The Textile Clothing and Footwear Union of Australia (Victorian Branch) seeks to appoint a Project administrator. This challenging role involves providing high level administrative assistance to a number of Union projects, including the Retrenched Worker Advocacy Unit, the Education Unit, Homeworkers Code of Practice compliance project and Health and Safety Projects.

Essential to this role is outstanding organisational skills, communication skills, IT and data management skills and a proven capability to juggle multiple conflicting deadlines in an environment subject to sudden change.

jobdescription: 1.To provide secretarial, administrative and project support.

2.To develop and maintain databases.

3.To provide organisational and administrative support to both state and nationally based project workers.

4.To coordinate state and national project data collection.

5.To organise meetings and events including booking and preparation of venues.

6.To manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and communications including proactively prioritising issues, and systematically filing and storing hard copy and electronic files.

7.To prepare and submit material and reports for funding bodies.

8.To assist with or undertake research or specific projects as required.

9.To organise the layout, update and manage printed communication materials.

10.To update the website.

11.To assist with general administrative support requirements including reception duties.

12.To liaise with workers, TCFUA branches, other unions, organisations, industry representatives, government and media.

Job Description:

Excellent organisational skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Research, Events and Project Administration Skills.

Advanced capacity to use computer applications and technology in particular, database and web software.

Commitment to social justice and union values.

Proven capacity to work as part of a team.

Experience in working with people who come from a range of cultural backgrounds is desirable, but not essential.

Second language is desirable but not essential.

Knowledge of the TCF industry desirable but also not essential.
