Job Description:

The Support Officer will report to the Media and Communications Officer and will:

• Write and lay out communications for campaigns, including leaflets, dedicated campaign websites and e-newsletters to campaign supporters.

• Write and lay out campaign communications for our members

• Write content and interview members for journals and newsletters

• Contribute content for our website www.lhmu.org.au

• Photograph and film campaign actions and members, and produce short campaign videos

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

The successful applicant must have:
• A demonstrated commitment to campaigning for justice
• Ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple projects
• Ability to work long and unpredictable hours
• Excellent writing and editing

You should also have some or all of the following:
• A degree or other qualification in journalism or communications
• Ability to talk with workers from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to frame issues for different audiences
• Basic layout using InDesign/Photoshop/Illustrator
• Research and interview skills
• Photography, digital video and video editing skills
