Overview:

This is a fast paced and challenging position working in an organisation on the front line of workplace relations in Australia.

The CFMEU is one of Australias leading unions in the construction industry.

The WA branch, located in East Perth, represents over 12,000 workers and is looking for an employment and industrial relations lawyer to join our legal/industrial team.

Job Description:

Responsibilities will include:

Providing advice to members, elected officials and organisers; Representing the union and its members in individual and collective negotiations; and Preparation and advocacy for litigation in courts and tribunals.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

Experience required:

Sound litigation experience;
Understanding of employment and industrial relations legislation.

Highly desirable:

Experience in employment law and industrial relations.
Proven experience working in a team environment and strong communication skills.
An understanding of union principles and culture and a commitment to improving the conditions of working people.
