Overview:

The Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union has a vacancy for a National Research Officer (Level 3 to 5 depending on skill and experience) to work in industrial, legal and corporate research across the Union. The position is located at the Union's National Office, Granville, NSW.

Responsibilities include:

• providing industrial advice and information to officials, officers, organisers, delegates and members of the Union, as required;

• researching, monitoring and reporting industrial law developments;

• researching and reporting on issues affecting workers covered by the Union;

• preparing cases and representing the AMWU before courts and tribunals including Fair Work Australia;

• preparing submissions for internal and external inquiries;

• conducting corporate and industry research and preparing reports for officials and organisers as required.

Job Description:

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

Highly developed research and advocacy abilities are required, and legal or other relevant qualifications would be desirable. Preferred applicants will have at least 5 years experience in Industrial Relations or a related discipline requiring research and advocacy skills.
