Overview:

UnionsACT is seeking an experienced Office Administrator

---
Job Description:

Provide secretariat support to executive and council.

Liaise with Finance Officer about office finances, staff leave and other matters as directed Keep a record of staff leave to forward to the Financial Officer Attend AGM, Executive and Council meetings and take minutes for presentation at the next meeting.

Collate AGM, Executive and Council report in consultation with Secretary and include all relevant information and reports.

Organise key note Union events including Picnic Day, May Day, International Day of Mourning and Festival events. This will involve organising a Venue and equipment.

Collect affiliation fees from all union affiliates and audit payments and issue invoices.

Liaise with tenants and monitor rental payments.

Manage outgoing correspondence for UnionsACT and the Secretary Deal with maintenance issues and liaise with contractors.

Assist the Secretary as directed.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

Demonstrated word processing and information technology skills
Demonstrated ability to minute meetings and organise relevant agendas, minutes and staff reports to an executive body
Knowledge and understanding of statutory requirements for an incorporated association.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience in managing a small office
Experience in event management

Desired:

Knowledge and understanding of unions and /or peak body organisations
Experience working is a Union/Community Campaign office environment
Ability to work with volunteers
Experience in developing programs and budgets for events.

Salary:

Full time (35 hours per week)

Remuneration: $48,000 annually + 14% Super
