Overview:

The CFMEU Mining and Energy Division is the principal union that covers coalmine workers in Australia. You will be part of a highly motivated and dedicated team of organisers and will be working at the forefront of industrial organising.

Job Description:

Fulltime position working within NSW coalfields. You will participate in planning, implementing, and review of targeted organising campaigns. Duties will include, probing targets, setting up campaigns, making initial contact, developing organising committees, systematic contact of members, escalating action, settlement and site hand-over. You must be self-motivated and have a genuine desire to help workers within the coal industry. You will report to the lead organiser within the area and will work in accordance with the unions primary objectives and requirements.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

Enthusiasm, energy and creativity to do a challenging job in a difficult environment. Demonstrated commitment to trade unionism, excellent listening, verbal communication and interpersonal skills that provides for establishing rapport, explore issues, encourage critical analysis and gain commitment to action. Ability to lead, motivate, develop and mobilise union members, workplace activists and other workers. Ability to analyse issues / problems and develop strategies to deal with them. Good written communication and computer skills are required. Interstate travel maybe required. You will hold a current drivers license.

Salary:

$64,000 $83,700. Salary package dependent on qualifications and experience.
