APESMA is a trade union which represents the industrial, professional and legal interests of Engineers, Scientists, Managers, Pharmacists and other professionals.

Job Description:

This job is located in the SA Branch of APESMA but it will work across States and in particular in Victoria.

It is a 12 month position working on a specific national organising campaign with a team of organisers from other States and with a lead organiser based in SA.

The role involves working with members and workplace leaders on a campaign that builds the strength of the union and delivers good industrial outcomes. The tasks involved include mapping, working to organising plans, developing workplace reps, building sustainable organising structures and recruiting new members.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

Demonstrated commitment to trade union values Previous experience working on campaigns either in a community, political or union setting Excellent communication skills Demonstrated ability to work with and influence people Ability to work with leaders, reps and members to develop their skills and confidence Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritise work Some knowledge of the federal industrial relations system and collective bargaining Computer literacy and keyboard skills Current drivers licence Ability to travel interstate for significant periods

Salary:

The salary is negotiable depending on your particular mix of skills, experience and qualifications.
