The HSU is the specialist health union with coverage of over 80,000 health workers across Australia. Membership includes nurses and allied health professionals such as physiotherapists and radiographers, ambulance officers, clerical and administrative staff, managers and support staff. Our members in many cases are also the ones that keep the health system running smoothly, the ward clerks, storemen, kitchen, cleaning and administrative staff.
The HSU Victorian Branch represents the interests of members employed in diverse classifications across the public and private sectors ranging for example from residential and disability support workers, clerical, administration and managerial workers, cleaning, kitchen and store workers, aged care workers, nurses and ambulance officers.
The successful applicants will have a strong commitment to the labour movement and a capacity to handle a varied and demanding workload.

| Job Description: |
The positions are based in our South Melbourne offices and will require some travel to regional Victoria.
You will be responsible for encouraging workers to join the Union and act collectively for better working conditions. You will do this by visiting workplaces, recruiting members and workplace leaders and developing their confidence and skills.

| Desired: |
Knowledge of contemporary industrial relations issues and practices and industry or trade union experience will be highly regarded.
Experience in negotiating and/or dispute resolution experience.
Previous experience in a similar role, or as a union delegate would be an advantage.
