Overview:

Unions NSW has been funded by WorkCover NSW to employ an OH&S Project Officer (4 - 5 days a week negotiable) for 12 months. Unions NSW is the peak body for unions in NSW with 64 affiliated unions and 10 affiliated regional trades and labour councils representing over 600,000 union members.

Job Description:

The successful applicant will be required to:

(1) review and update all OH&S and 'Return to Work' training and resource materials previously produced by Unions NSW;

(2) co-ordinate the redesign of the Unionsafe and Youthsafe websites to update the design and incorporate all updated materials;

(3) develop an online training course with the ability to be expanded as additional resources become available;

(4) review and enhance the OH&S and 'Return to Work' delegate handbooks to increase their effectiveness and applicability in workplaces;

(5) provide a range of industry based OH&S workshops in metropolitan and regional and rural areas for organisers, delegates, union members and OH&S committee representatives focused on updated OH&S resources and website;

(6) organise a conference for OH&S Safety Delegates based on a peer education format which will allow experts, union officials and delegates to participate in workshops that review and explore work being currently undertaken in the fields of OH&S and 'Return to Work'.

(7) Resource the project reference group who will oversee the development of the project.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

Project Coordinator Employment Criteria

Essential Criteria

• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in addition to tertiary or trade qualifications.

• Minimum of a 'Train the Trainer' or Cert IV Workplace Training & Assessment qualification.

• Demonstrated experience in researching and writing training packages.

• Demonstrated training skills and experience.

• Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of OH&S procedures.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrated ability to work to tight timeframes.

• Demonstrated ability to work within project budgets.

• Demonstrated ability to use computers and word processing.

• Ability to build relationships with clients.

• Demonstrated understanding of how unions operate.

Salary:

up to $81,920 depending on skills, experience and hours

Additional
Information:

28 - 35 hours per week negotiable for a 12 month period
