| Overview: |
The primary function of this role is to develop and implement effective campaigns and strategies to build members collective power in the workplace. There is also a strong emphasis on recruiting members and developing member activists and workplace leaders. The position will report to the team Official and will be focused on meeting key union objectives of:
XWinning improvements in members pay, conditions and working environment through delivering the unions core claim in bargaining and our agenda for change in our industry XDelivering a stronger voice for members by ensuring union membership grows and by building member participation in union activity XGiving members ownership of their union by building effective workplace delegate structures and increasing the number, skill and engagement of activists and workplace leaders in CPSU activity.

1.to a set organising plan (individual or team) and be accountable for delivering set objectives and targets 2.as directed by a team leader or union official 3.long and sometimes changing hours, including some nights or weekends and possibly travel to regional centres or interstate.

| Experience & Qualifications |
| Essential: |
XDemonstrated commitment to trade unionism and social justice XGood knowledge of the federal industrial relations system, collective bargaining and union strategy for the bargaining environment XComprehensive understanding of organising theory, strategy and practice and application of the principles and techniques of organising XAbility to develop, implement and analyse organising plans and to manage and prioritise work programs XExcellent listening, verbal communication and interpersonal skills V demonstrated ability to apply organising communication frameworks XAbility to lead, motivate and develop a team of organisers, workplace leaders or activists XAbility to conduct successful organising campaigns that build growth and sustainable union structures XAbility to analyze complex issues/problems and develop strategies to deal with them XAbility to deal professionally with diverse groups of people, including members, delegates, union officials and employers XEnthusiasm, energy and creativity to do a challenging job in a difficult environment.
