The Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU) is one of Australias largest and most innovative trade unions.
The CPSU is looking for an Executive Assistant to the National Secretary with an analytical mind and strong organisational skills. The role will primarily be responsible for providing high level organisational support functions to the National Secretary. The successful candidate will have demonstrated abilities to liaise with people at all levels, experience in supporting a team, and be adept at performing tasks similar to that of a personal assistant role. You will have strong skills in the Microsoft suite of products, in particular Excel. In addition to this, you will have sound typing and data entry skills and have experience in database management.

| Job Description: |
To provide effective and efficient executive level support to the National Secretary.
The position requires you to undertake specified work and projects and manage functions on behalf of the National Secretary.
Position Expectations
The assistant to the National Secretary has a key support role in a dynamic, complex and constantly changing environment requiring flexibility and a highly professional approach to work.
You will be required to:
Work effectively to meet the requirements of the National Secretary Manage internal and external relationships professionally Apply political judgement and discretion at all times Exercise high level communication skills Provide quality outcomes in a timely and consistent manner

Key Accountabilities and Tasks:
Assist the National Secretary in any aspect of the job as required, including:
Meeting the legal and organisational requirements of the position Preparing correspondence, reports and briefing notes as required Undertaking research, providing precises and collating relevant information and documentation as required Co-ordinating meetings, conferences and events as required and ensure that action arising is undertaken and required outcomes delivered Dealing directly with members and external organisations on behalf of the National Secretary

Excellent communication and organisational skills The ability to exercise initiative and take responsibility The capacity to exercise sound political judgement at all times Excellent problem solving skills High level competency in core computer skills The ability to liaise effectively and professionally with people The capacity to quickly research, absorb and prcis relevant industrial, legal and organisational information The capacity to correctly interpret and apply the requirements of union rules, legislation and regulations An understanding of the work, structure and role of the CPSU.

| Salary: |
Salary Range: $55,580 - $58,879 + 14% superannuation
|
