| Overview: |
The primary function of this role is to provide information, support, advice and representation to members on issues that affect their working lives. The MSC Telephone Organiser operates in a very dynamic, complex and constantly changing environment requiring flexibility and openness to new ideas and approaches.
The MSC Telephone Organiser is an entry-level position with potential career development to a workplace organising role. A comprehensive six-month training program is provided.
The position will report to the Director of the MSC and the Team Leader and will be focused on meeting key union objectives of:
XWinning improvements in members pay, conditions and working environment through delivering the unions core claim in bargaining and our agenda for change in our industry XDelivering a stronger voice for members by ensuring union membership grows and by building member participation in union activity XGiving members ownership of their union by building effective workplace delegate structures and increasing the number, skill and engagement of activists and workplace leaders in CPSU activity.

XA commitment to union values and principles, helping others and making a contribution to society XCommitted to high service standards XDemonstrated high-level communication skills XConfident and enjoys dealing with people over the phone XCapable of dealing with peak inbound phone call demands XAbility to work as part of a team and independently XGood record-keeping skills XDemonstrated ability to use a PC and related commercial software packages, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook XExperience working with a membership based relational database package

XExperience as a union activist or delegate XInvolvement in union, community, student, environment or other campaigns/collective activities XPrevious experience processing payments and membership records over the phone XOutbound calling experience, survey data collection XAnswering industrial inquiries and advising delegates and members XManaging individual industrial cases such as Workers Compensation

Trainee Org 1 $50,435 to MSC Org 1.2 $58,879 + 14% super
|
