Queensland Independent Education Union (QIEU)

QIEU is a union representing over 15,000 teacher, school officer and services staff members in non-government education institutions throughout Queensland and the Northern Territory.

Applications are sought for a fixed term full-time position.

The position is based in Brisance

The duties of this full-time position include:

Develop, maintain and co-ordinate our unions website and online resources.

Produce union publications including newsletters.

Develop and implement communication strategies to support organising/campaigning activities.

Act as the media liaison, write media releases and develop media strategies.

Promote events and projects.

Develop strategies for union campaigning/organising.

Develop recruitment materials.

1.Capacity to think creatively and write with purpose.

2.Capacity to produce communications (including research and write articles) including oversight of production and printing processes and maintain and enhance a website. Knowledge of InDesign would be advantageous.

3.Capacity to develop and implement strategies for union campaigning/organising.

4.Appreciation of union values.

Knowledge of InDesign would be advantageous.

Training and on-going support will be provided.

Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Experienced person - $57,217.66 - $74,187.66 p.a.

Graduates - $48,474.99 to $53,577.62 p.a.

Appointment to a salary level will be made on the basis of qualifications and experience.
