The Assistant Industrial Officer position has been newly created and is an entry level role for a new law graduate or law student in the final stages keen to learn and develop skills in workplace relations. It is based at the ALAEA office at Bexley in Sydney.
The primary purpose of the Assistant Industrial Officer role is to achieve positive outcomes for members in the workplace (both collectively and individually) while operating under the direction of the ALAEA Senior Industrial Officer and other industrial staff. The primary purpose will be achieved by developing and utilising dispute resolution skills including the identification of issues, legal research and analysis.
In addition, the Assistant Industrial Officer will work with the ALAEA industrial staff on matters including but not limited to welfare, workers compensation and insurance and utilise and assist the industrial staff with the in-house electronic filing system and some administrative matters and contribute to ALAEAs member and stakeholder communications.
