| Overview: |
NTEU (NSW Division) is seeking to employ a Senior Industrial Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced industrial staff to join an enthusiastic team at a time of growth and change.
The NTEU is a federally registered membership-led union with coverage of academic and general staff in higher education. The NTEU (NSW) has coverage of workers in all NSW universities and their associated student organisations, research institutes and companies. This potentially involves work in the Sydney metropolitan area as well as Armidale, Lismore, Newcastle, Wollongong, Albury, Wagga Wagga and Bathurst.

| Job Description: |
Negotiating with higher education managements on personal cases and disputes; negotiating local enterprise collective agreements; advocacy before industrial tribunals; organising and recruitment; providing industrial advice; co-ordinating campaigns; provide leadership and coordination to the industrial team in NSW and report to the State Executive.

| Experience & Qualifications |
| Essential: |
Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent; experience in the trade union movement; demonstrated negotiating, advocacy and campaign skills; demonstrated commitment to and understanding of principles of organising and evidence of experience in their application; commitment to union principles.
|
|
| Desired: |
Knowledge of the higher education industry; basic word processing; and electronic communication skills.
|
|
| Salary: |
NTEU Level 8: $87,308 95,363 pa. Employer superannuation contributions of 17% are paid in addition to salary.
