Overview:

Working predominantly in Greenfields sites the role of the Growth Organiser is to develop collectivism in the workplace by identifying, recruiting, leading, motivating and educating workplace representatives, activists and members.

---
Job Description:

Identifying Organising opportunities in existing or new workplaces; Recruiting members to the union and increasing union density in the workplace; Planning Organising activities in the workplace;

Supporting members to campaign, negotiate and act collectively in order to resolve workplace issues;

Working with other Branch officials, Delegates and members on Organising and Industrial campaigns.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

Commitment to the trade union movement and to community activism; Demonstrated knowledge of and/or experience of modern organising methods; Able to advise members on Awards, Agreements and industrial legislation in general; Able to work with limited supervision and be self motivated; Able to demonstrate initiative and leadership; Negotiation skills; Able to work to deadlines; Current Victorian Drivers Licence; Basic Computer Skills.
