Overview:

APESMA is a trade union and professional association representing 25,000 professionals in diverse industries across Australia.

Working in critical areas of the economy, our members are highly skilled and work in demanding roles.

This part time Member Service Advisor / Assistant position is in the Associations Member Service Centre which is the first point of contact for members with questions or problems in their workplaces.

The position is for up to 20 hours a week that can be flexibly arranged. It would be ideal for a law student who is within a year or so of obtaining their undergraduate degree.

Job Description:

As the initial point of contact for the Association, you will be providing industrial advice, working with members and others to progress the Associations agenda, and providing follow up support to members on all matters relating to their employment, including the application of Awards, Workplace Agreements and relevant legislation.

You will also have the opportunity to deal with a wide range of queries, and perform an important role resolving issues, and working to recruit and retain Association members.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

  • A commitment to trade union values and a keen interest in industrial relations are essential.
  • The ability to manage a variety of tasks and meet deadlines, problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative are also required.
  • A demonstrated high level of verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal with people that may be under stressful situations are also essential.
  • Applicants will have access to a training and support program.

Salary:

Commencing $37K to $43K pro rata
