The NSW Nurses Association is a trade union, which represents the industrial, professional and legal interest of nurses and midwives in NSW.

Job Description:

We seek an Assistant Industrial Officer to join the Member Industrial Services Team to progress non complex industrial relations matters and to provide expert support, advice and representation to members and NSWNA officers in the following areas:

  • application of industrial instruments;
  • industrial advocacy in tribunals;
  • industrial research, advice and negotiation;
  • general industrial research and advice to contribute to the achievement of the Associations strategic goals;
  • to recruit members of the Association; to provide industrial and professional service for the membership.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

To be successful in this position, you must have a commitment to the union movement and demonstrated, or working towards, relevant tertiary qualifications i.e. Health and/or Social Sciences, Industrial Relations, Management and/or Law. You should have the ability to analyse individual member issues, articulate complex issues clearly and produce a high standard of complex correspondence.

You should have the ability to manage multiple complex issues simultaneously and the ability to prioritise competing workplace demands. You should have a good command of the English language both written and verbal and it is essential that you have an understanding of industrial relations in the workplace.

It is essential that you have PC, Microsoft Office and administration skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision. A full Drivers Licence is mandatory.
