Unions NSW

Union Summer is a program run each year by Unions NSW in conjunction with the ACTU Organising Centre.

The program is designed so that young people interested in workers' rights and social justice undertake a three (3) week internship in a NSW union.

Union Summer will provide you with an experience of what unions do in relation to representing working people in Australian society.

Union Summer will provide you with a wide experience of what it is like to work for a union, by providing three weeks of on the job experience. You will also be given the opportunity to specialise in industrial law, organising/campaigning and/or media/communications.

Limited places are available and entry to this program is competitive. Successful applicants will be notified of a time to attend an interview on 25th November 2010.

The program will run from Monday 31st January - Friday 18th February 2011 and includes 3 days of training provided by Unions NSW. Successful applicants will be a placed in a union and mentored by a union organiser. There is an allowance paid to all successful applicants.
