Overview:

The QCU Graduate Program will offer you a one-year accelerated professional development opportunity across Queenslands union movement.

You will participate in a range of targeted training and development activities, which are aimed at building your industrial relations knowledge and skills.

What's on Offer:

Extensive training and professional development program The QCU will provide graduates with job placement assistance in the final stages of the graduate program.

Job Description:

You will undertake up to 3 rotations, across both white and blue collar unions. This will enable you to gain a significant degree of exposure to, and experience in, a range of industrial relations activities including:

Conducting research and providing advice regarding contemporary industrial relations issues Assisting in negotiating with employers for both individual and collective matters Drafting correspondence, reports, submissions and briefing papers Assisting in the preparation of cases to be heard before relevant tribunals.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

A university degree in industrial relations or law.

You will have a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and strong interpersonal skills. This will be demonstrated through your proven success in your university studies and work experience.

You will also need to demonstrate your identification with, and commitment to our values and the broader trade union movement.

Selection Criteria:

1. A demonstrated commitment to security and fairness in the workplace and social responsibility, justice and equality in the community.

2. A desire to pursue a career in the trade union movement.

3. A strong understanding of contemporary industrial relations principles and practices.

4. Demonstrated research, analytical and problem solving skills.

Salary:

$51,500 plus employer superannuation

5 weeks annual leave

12 month temporary contract
