QIEU is a union of in excess of 16,000 members with a growing membership across Queensland and the Northern Territory. Members are drawn from the non-government education sector.

| Job Description: |
The role of the Organiser is to assist members to build their collective strength and power by:
recruiting members to build membership density
educating members about the issues before them and educating them about how to respond to these
developing and practising collective activities to build a union (collective) culture.
|
| Experience & Qualifications |
| Essential: |
Applicants should have relevant tertiary qualifications and experience.
|
|
| Desired: |
Experience in a union/education environment would be desirable.
|
|
| Salary: |
This position is designated in the range Level 1 Step 1 to Level 2 Step 4 of the QIEU Officers Scale ($59,506.47 - $77,155.17 p.a.). Appointment to a salary level will be made on the basis of qualifications and experience.
Highly experienced practitioner Organisers may be considered for appointment at Level 3 ($79,537.87 87,937.87).
