Overview:

The NSW Teachers Federation is a large, state-wide professional trade union organisation covering teachers in the public sector. The Federation is a major advocate of public education. The Federation currently maintains four public websites and an Intranet.

Job Description:

To develop and maintain online web content and security of Federations websites and produce in-house video productions as determined by the Media Officer and Senior Officers of the Federation.

1.Develop and maintain Federations online content;

2.Purchase and create web content in consultation with the AGS Communications and Administration;

3.Produce in-house video content as directed by the AGS Communications and Administration;

4.Ensure web security;

5.Photography for the Web;

6.Report, write and edit text;

7.Perform other associated duties as directed by the General Secretary.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

Journalism training and/or relevant degree;

Advanced software skills in the processing of textual content, graphics and multimedia for the web, including HTML, JavaScript, Flash, picture digital editing and multimedia, web publishing, HTML and web design;

Experience in video pre-production, production and post-production (Premier Pro) Advanced computer knowledge in Microsoft Office;

High level oral and written communication skills;

Strong attention to detail;

Planning and organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure to ensure that tasks are completed within deadlines;

Knowledge of the organisation, its services and objectives;

Respect for sensitivity and confidentiality of issues handled;

Positive attitude to unionism, able to demonstrate an understanding and commitment to trade unionism.

Awareness of OH&S policies and procedures.

Experience or training in editing, sub-editing and reporting journalism.
A passion for the Web and interest in online journalism Ability to work within a highly charged industrial/political organisation.

Salary:

$60,500.00 plus super
