Overview:

The Rail Tram & Bus Union (Queensland Branch) is seeking an Industrial Officer to provide expert support, advice and representation to RTBU Qld union officers,delegates and members.

The Applicant will require:

Ability to conduct advocacy in tribunals and courts;

Ability to represent individuals and groups;

Ability to provide Interpretations and advice about legislation and industrial instruments;

Ability to draft industrial instruments (eg Enterprise Agreements);

High level written and verbal communication and negotiation skills;

Understanding of an organizing approach;

Ability to manage competing deadlines;

Commitment to trade union and labour movement principles.

Experience & Qualifications
Desired:

A degree in industrial relations, arts, law, or significant progress towards same. In absence of a degree level qualification an extensive number of years work experience working as a specialist in the IR field.

Good understanding of Workplace Health & Safety legislation and practices
