Reporting to the National Director (Organising & Development), the Lead Organiser (Education) will be responsible for:
• Co-ordination of the Union's ACTIVATE and ACTIVATED LEADERS programmes (the latter of which is partly funded by a TUEF grant), including development of sessions and materials, liaison with State branches, Organisers & Lead Organisers, coaching and mentoring of staff and acting as a general resource to the National Director (Organising & Development) in the implementation of these programmes;
• Preparation of education materials related to organising and unionism;
• Preparation and delivery of training courses for union members, delegates and staff;
• Leading and participating in training sessions, including field training, briefings and de-briefing sessions associated with on-the-job training for staff, members and delegates;
• Working with Industrial Officers on the development and execution of Organising Campaign Plans;
• Ensuring that internal and external reporting requirements are met.
Potential applicants should note that the successful candidate will be required to work in a flexible way, including some intrastate and interstate travel. The actual number of days worked and times worked may be flexible within the parameters of the job description and a maximum of 4 days per week.
