National Tertiary Education Union NT Division

The National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU) represents over 25,000 academic and general staff in Universities and other tertiary education providers throughout Australia. The Unions NT Division, which represents members employed at the Charles Darwin University, Bachelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education and several small institutions, is seeking a highly motivated staff member for its NT Division based in Darwin. The position is part-time at 0.6.

The successful candidate will be assigned a mix of duties, including, as part of a team, taking responsibility for the completion of assigned organising, campaign, and administrative tasks or projects.

The successful applicant will have a commitment to unionism, and experience in recruitment, routine office tasks, writing and campaign skills. Knowledge of the tertiary education industry and experience in the support of activist networks would be an advantage.

The position will be filled at either NTEU Level 4 ($54,587 - $61,076) or NTEU Level 5 ($62,154 - $67,200) depending on skills and experience, plus 17% employer superannuation contributions. Terms and conditions for this position are covered by a national collective agreement which has terms comparable with NTEU members in the industry.
