WAs peak union body has an exciting opportunity for a 12 month position for a media professional to join our team.
We believe that a high standard communication is essential in campaigning for WA workers.

| Job Description: |
We are looking for an experienced media officer to be responsible for media liaison with the UnionsWA Secretary as well as with affiliated unions. The job will involve:
- writing releases and getting our stories in the media;
- liaising with journalists; issues management;
- co-coordinating media events; developing campaign messages from research/polling; and working with other officers to achieve our major media and campaign objectives.

Essential:
The successful applicant will be independent and motivated, with significant experience in communications, journalism, public relations or similar.
Established contacts in state news organisations.
A commitment to the cause of organised labour and progressive values.

Experience in a variety of media/campaign roles
(or interest in) new media

| Salary: |
12 month appointment. An attractive remuneration package is available.
