United Voice - Victoria

United Voice Victoria (formerly LHMU) is a diverse and progressive union improving the lives of workers in hospitality, childcare, cleaning, security, healthcare and manufacturing.

The Union is seeking interns to work as part of the Union team for two weeks in July 2011. Interns will work under the supervision of Union Officials. Tasks they may be expected to do include:

• Helping to join workers to the union

• Building activism and leadership amongst union members

• Conducting campaign actions

• Learning to deal with member issues in the workplace

• Turning out members to meetings

• Completing or recently completed a post-secondary qualification.

• Passion for the union movement.

• Experience in union, community, social justice, student or other activist campaigns preferred.

The internship is voluntary
