An exceptional opportunity is available for a self-starter who is interested in taking a lead role in organising as well as in industrial campaigns and projects, particularly in areas identified as potential growth opportunities. The role is offered by one of Australia's most effective, respected and influential trade unions.

Job Description:

Based in Sydney and working throughout Australia, you will be working closely with National and Branch Officials in the development and support of the structures of the union as well as building and sustaining membership in the workplace.

Reporting to the Assistant National Secretary and working closely with the National Lead Organiser, the role is interesting and varied with responsibilities including, but not limited to:

-- developing, monitoring, measuring and coordinating the progress of organising and industrial campaigns and projects;

-- liaising with Branches to ensure campaigns and projects are resourced and coordinated;

-- supporting the continual development of industry campaign strategies across the trade union movement;

-- supporting the identification and development of union activists;

-- identifying areas of potential growth through statistical analysis; and

-- developing and implementing communication strategies that support organising activities.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you possess :

-- excellent written and verbal communication skills

-- strong listening and investigative skills

-- a proactive and organised approach demonstrating a sound work ethic and ability to prioritise and plan

-- willingness to work as a member of a team

-- well-developed analytical and research skills

-- current Drivers License

Desired:

In addition, it is preferrable that you possess, or be willing to undertake appropriate training to develop the relevant skills to fulfill the equirements of the role:

-- Organiser skills, preferrably having completed Certificate IV in Unionism

-- High level of computer literacy (advanced level MS Office [Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook] and intermediate level database)

A competitive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with experience.
