| Union: |
Finance Sector Union |
| Overview: |
The Finance Sector Union of Australia is the voice of 400,000 finance sector workers, organising and representing members in banking, insurance, superannuation, credit unions, financial planning and financial services.
The FSU organises members and campaigns for workers' rights, as well as industry issues like averting the off shoring of Australian jobs, unreasonable sales targets, understaffing, gender pay equity, workplace bullying and stress, and safe workplaces. We want recognition of the professionalism of workers in the industry, and we want to make our union stronger.
We are looking for a Communications Production Officer with strong graphic design skills, to fill a parental leave vacancy for up to one year.

| Job Description: |
The successful applicant will be designing publications (paper based and electronic), web graphics, pages and sites, posters, flyers, badges, stickers, and other campaign material, most of it needed in a hurry. You will be responsible for the design, print and distribution of FSU material, and must be able to report on relevant stats demonstrating the effectiveness of these communication materials.
You will be part of a broader communications team that is responsible for all FSU national communications including media relations, regular e-newsletters, magazines, internal publications, the FSU website, social media channels and other presences on the internet. Other members of our team work on policy, research projects and government and political liaison.
As well as supporting national and industry campaigns, we provide communications support to state branches for local campaigns.

| Experience & Qualifications |
| Essential: |
We are primarily interested in hearing from applicants with solid graphic design skills and experience, particularly in the use of Indesign Software CS5 and Flash. Applicants who are invited to an interview will also be asked to demonstrate their skills by producing a document(s) immediately following the interview.
| Desired: |
Applicants with writing, photography, or video production and editing skills are encouraged to apply as these skills would be highly valued, although these skills are not absolutely necessary for you to succeed in this role. Experience or knowledge with email and fax distribution using online systems, using membership systems to generate member listings and using online web content management system is desirable.
| Salary: |
We are offering a salary of between $52,000 - $62,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus 15% superannuation and other great working conditions. The successful applicant will be required to start on or before 1 August 2011.
Additional Information: |
The position is currently based in Sydney, but arrangements could be made to situate the position in Melbourne if that was the preference of the right candidate.
This is a full time position offered for a fixed period of 12 months to cover a parental leave vacancy.
