We believe that a high standard communication is essential in campaigning for WA workers.

We are looking for an experienced media officer to be responsible for media liaison with the UnionsWA Secretary as well as with affiliated unions. The job will involve:

- writing releases and getting our stories in the media;

- liaising with journalists;

- issues management;

- co-coordinating media events;

- developing campaign messages from research/polling; and

- working with other officers to achieve our major media and campaign objectives.

Essential:

- The successful applicant will be independent and motivated, with significant experience in communications, journalism, public relations or similar.

- Established contacts in state news organisations.

- A commitment to the cause of organised labour and progressive values.

Experience in:

- a variety of media/campaign roles

- (or interest in) new media

- InDesign

12 month appointment. An attractive remuneration package is available.
