Independent Education Union Victoria Tasmania

The Independent Education Union Victoria Tasmania, which represents over 20,000 members in non-government education, is seeking a highly skilled Communications Officer.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

1. Providing high-quality, relevant and up-to-date information to our membership and prospective members;

2. Overseeing the implementation of VIEUs broad communications strategy which includes publications, newsletters, website and media promotion.

3. Promoting awareness of the Independent Education Union within the union movement and broader community.

The successful applicant must have highly developed verbal and written skills preferably with several years experience in journalism, communications, media relations or a related field. Publishing, research and/or policy experience are desirable and a commitment to the union movement is essential.
