United Voice members work in a wide range of industries across Australia. Significant areas of coverage include cleaning, security, childcare, aged care, education, hospitality, health, and manufacturing.
This position contributes strategic and tactical industrial support to national industry campaigns geared to achieving industry reform goals developed by members. The position also involves monitoring the implementation of modern awards relevant to United Voice industries and occupations, maintaining Modern Awards as a fair safety net, oversight of the application of the Union's rules as amended from time to time, and appearances before industrial tribunals and courts as the United Voice's representative.

| Job Description: |
The key duties of the position are:
• Provide industrial advice to support the strategic development of national industry campaigns including through bargaining, and provide ongoing tactical industrial advice throughout campaign implementation.
• Undertake industrial and legal research as required in campaign/industrial team plans.
• Co-ordinate bargaining with national employers, and (where required) lead negotiations.
• Monitor, aggregate and analyse the effect of decisions and judgments of Fair Work Australia and other relevant tribunals and courts.
• Prepare and present cases and submissions for the United Voice.
• Provide industrial information, training and support for staff, delegates and members.
• Provide support to Branch industrial and legal officers and organisers and, where necessary, undertake industrial work for Branches.

| Experience & Qualifications |
| Essential: |
The skills required for the position are:
• Have knowledge of and be competent in the application of the Federal legislative environment.
• A sound knowledge of industrial relations legislation and an understanding of the labour market generally.
• Well developed analytical, problem solving skills and a capacity to contribute to strategic planning.
• Able to prepare and articulate a position formally at a tribunal, court, mediation or meeting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to develop relationships with government, academic and community research and interest groups.
• A demonstrated commitment to United Voice values.
Experience in a similar position is essential for this position, with a minimum three to five years expected.

| Desired: |
Formal qualifications and/or a law degree, or working towards a law degree are highly desirable for this position.
Must be able to obtain a Right of Entry Permit.
