Overview:

The NSWNA is seeking applications for the permanent position of Manager, Communications.

You will be responsible for the management and development of Communication strategies in respect of the Association goals, key objectives and requirements, and provide leadership to the Communications team.

Job Description:

You will be accountable for driving the strategic direction of the NSWNA in internal and external communications through the effective use of the Associations website, digital and social media portals, campaigning, marketing and in conjunction with external providers for the LAMP and advertising, to strengthen the unions existing membership attract new members and communicate with the community the strategic importance of nurses and midwives.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

The successful applicant shall be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational, planning and people management skills. You should have well developed writing and editorial skills, coupled with an ability to create an online strategy and editorial direction. Your skills in crisis management will need to be well developed.

It is essential that you demonstrate an understanding of social media; including the ability to increase the numbers of social media followers and engage members to participate in the Associations online communities.

You should have an understanding of union culture and democratic structures coupled with an ability to exercise political judgment.

Desired:

Experience in print production coupled with a demonstrated ability in event management is advantageous for this role. An understanding of copyright and intellectual property laws is desirable.

Qualifications or demonstrated experience in writing, marketing, event management and /or business management are desirable for this role.
