| Overview: |
The NTEU - NSW is seeking to employ a full-time Industrial Officer. The position, whilst based in Sydney, does require travel to regional universities in NSW.
The NTEU is a federally registered membership-led union with coverage of academic and general staff in higher education. The NTEU - NSW has coverage of workers in all NSW universities and their associated student organisations, research institutes and companies.

| Job Description: |
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Negotiating local enterprise collective agreements;
- advocacy before industrial tribunals;
- negotiating with higher education managements on personal cases and disputes;
- recruitment; providing industrial advice and co-ordinating campaigns.

| Experience & Qualifications |
| Essential: |
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent;
- experience in the trade union movement; demonstrated negotiating, advocacy and campaign skills;
- demonstrated commitment to and understanding of principles of organising and evidence of experience in their application;
- commitment to union principles.

|
| Desired: |
- Knowledge of the higher education industry;
- basic word processing;
- electronic communication skills and drivers licence.
|
|
| Salary: |
NTEU Level 7 $82,815 pa - $91,434 depending on applicants level of experience. Employer superannuation contributions of 17% are paid in addition to salary.
