Overview:

United Voice is WAs largest Union. We represent workers in a wide range of industries including, Health, Aged Care, Indigenous Organisations, Cleaning, Security, Hospitality, Education, Manufacturing and Childcare.

We are currently seeking an Industrial Officer to join our Industrial team.

Job Description:

The role of an Industrial Officer includes a broad range of industrial work including representing the Union before Fair Work Australia, providing representation to members to resolve workplace issues, as well as negotiating enterprise bargaining agreements.

The successful applicant will have a sound working knowledge of the Industrial Relations system with the ability to understand and interpret the Fair Work Act and other relevant legislation. You will also display strong research, communication and analytical skills.

The ability to prepare and present cases before Fair Work Australia and other tribunals and to negotiate enterprise bargaining agreements would be highly regarded but is not essential and training and mentoring will be provided.

We would also look at offering an opportunity to a Law Graduate looking to complete Articles and build their career in this area.

This position will play an integral part in the Unions general organising and campaigning activities

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

Bachelor degree in Law or Industrial Relations (or equivalent) or practical experience in the field of Industrial Relations; the ability to interpret and analyse information such as legislation, awards or agreements; time management; the ability to manage multiple tasks; excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired:

Experience preparing for and managing Fair Work Australia and WA Commission proceedings including conciliation and arbitration hearings; experience in an Industrial Relations advisory role; experience in interpreting legislation, awards or agreements.

Salary:

The salary package includes:

attractive salary, dependant on experience and skills;

6 weeks annual leave;

25% annual leave loading;

12% superannuation contribution
