The Media Entertainment & Arts Alliance is the professional organisation and trade union for the media, entertainment and arts industries. It represents actors, journalists and entertainment industry employees and has over 20,000 members. This role reports to the Federal Secretary and will ideally be based in Sydney but flexible for the right candidate.
This unique role in the Australian union movement will play a key leadership role in the development of cutting edge thinking in relation to policy, campaigns and communications strategy across the Alliance at both national and regional level. Integrating a national team you will consolidate and implement communications externally and across the organisation to support campaign and membership growth. You will also establish relationships with national and international organisations, think tanks, the social change movement, key policy makers and corporations.
You have extensive experience in cutting edge thinking in relation to policy, campaigns and communications and/or public affairs, developing policy position and a strong history of campaign execution. You have an informed strategic mind that harnesses practical ideas based on a sound knowledge of the union or social movement.
