The goal of this position is to facilitate the planning and implementation of the Unions designated key priority national campaign.
The National Campaign Co-ordinator must be able to work inclusively with members of the campaign team including key internal stakeholders in achieving this goal. A key factor in a successful campaign will be the ability of the co-ordinator to build unity and commitment of all union stakeholders to its goals and activity.
The National Campaign Co-ordinator will be required to provide regular reports as directed by the National Secretary and may from time to time be required to undertake other tasks in line with the policies of the union.
The National Campaign Co-ordinator is expected to comply with the Staff CEA and union policies and procedures.
The role of the National Campaign Co-ordinator includes:
1. Facilitating the involvement of the campaign team and key internal and external stakeholders in developing a campaign plan.
2.Managing the campaign as a project that incorporates measurable objectives and timeframes, a process for evaluation and the identification of necessary resources.
3.Regular reporting to the National Secretary and National Management Team on campaign progress and achievement of milestones. Active involvement, when appropriate, in discussions at National Management Team meetings about campaign plans and progress.
4.Working with the RDOs and SILs in ensuring the consistent operational implementation of the campaign plan nationally.
5.Working with the campaign lead organisers to develop and be accountable to the Co-ordinator for implementing monthly and weekly plans and with educators in the implementation of their agreed campaign responsibilities.
6.Providing strategic leadership for short term victories for members and long term advantage for the Union.
7.Building capability within the Union to increase the skills and knowledge for future campaigns.
8.Networking with external campaign stakeholders to advance the goals of the campaign.
9.Participating in staff development programmes and wider union activities including:
- Involvement in staff training and communications as required.
- Identifying areas for development of personal skills.
- Participating as directed in CTU, inter-union, community and political activities.
- Working as directed to advance the unions industry/sector strategies.
