Australian Manufacturing Workers Union

The AMWU (Australian Manufacturing Workers Union) is one of Australias largest Unions, covering the printing, metals, manufacturing, food, vehicle builders, and technical trades across Australia. The Victorian Printing Division is inviting applications for an appointed Organiser position based in our Carlton Office. AMWU is looking to fill this vacancy as soon as possible.

You will be expected to represent members on individual, group and bargaining issues, as well as organising growth activities in target sites, with the view to increase member numbers and activity. Delegates networks are also a vital part of the organising role, and you will be expected to assist, support and grow the network of delegates in the print industry.

Applicants should have excellent communication skills, and some experience in industrial relations is preferred. A genuine demonstrated commitment to Union principles, and a drive advancing the issues of union members is essential. The applicant should also hold a current drivers licence.

AMWU offers excellent working conditions, and these will be negotiated with the suitable applicant. Some travel will be required in this role, possibly interstate and regionally.
