Finance Sector Union

The Finance Sector Union, is the Union for Australia's bank, insurance, credit union, superannuation and finance industries and we are seeking to appoint a full-time permanent Lead Advocate to our Queensland Branch based in Brisbane.

The FSU Lead Advocate is responsible for leading, developing and coaching a team of Advocates, whose responsibility is to provide members with high quality advice and support in disputes, including representing members to management and negotiating solutions to problems.

The Lead Advocate will also maintain a case load and be responsible for running cases in Courts and Tribunals when required.

• Formal legal qualification

• Demonstrated experience in advocacy role

• Clear, concise, strong communication skills both oral and written

• Coaching and mentoring skills

• Extensive knowledge of contemporary industrial relations issues and practices

• Ability to interpret industrial instruments and other relevant legislation

• Strong time management skills

• Ability to work in a team environment and work under pressure

A salary from $71,748 is offered with increase up to $78,854 with experience and qualifications. The FSU also offers other excellent working conditions including employer superannuation contributions of 15% and a 9 day /70 hour fortnight.
