Overview:

An opportunity is available to join the Sydney Branch in a role that provides bookkeeping and administrative services to support the membership of The Maritime Union of Australia.

Job Description:

Working with the Branch Secretary and the Branch Presiding Officer, the role is interesting and varied with responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • carrying out bookkeeping functions (accounts payable & receivable, petty cash, reconciliations & reporting)
  • customer service to Members
  • administrative assistance for Officials
  • information management

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

To be considered for this role, you will possess a qualification in Bookkeeping and have at least 5 years bookkeeping experience and extensive experience working in an office environment.

Your attention to detail, advanced computer literacy, particularly possessing well-developed Excel skills, adaptability and flexibility will be the basis upon which expected outputs are delivered in a timely manner.

Your proactive and organised approach, demonstrating a sound work ethic and ability to prioritise and plan in a busy office environment, will ensure that the Branch is efficient and effective.
