Overview:

This position is responsible for maintaining the day to day operations of the United Voice National Office IT systems and supporting system users; managing the union's national IT architecture (including providing or sourcing high level technical support as required); facilitating leadership and cooperation among the branch based system administrators and planning and implementing new projects through the annual budget cycle.

United Voice is one of Australia's largest unions with members in every State and Territory. United Voice members work in industries such as childcare, aged care, cleaning, security, health education, hospitality and manufacturing.

Job Description:

The IT Systems Administrator is a part time role working between 20 and 24 hours per week. The role reports to the Lead IT Systems Administrator and works with a full time IT Support Officer.

The position is based in Sydney.

The skills required for this position are:

• Ability to set priorities in a rapidly changing environment

• Excellent knowledge of IT systems, products and IT industry developments relevant to the maintenance of a national IT system

• Good verbal, written communication and liaison skills, including the ability to formulate effective IT policies and procedures

• A commitment to United Voice values

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

Solid experience in the following:

  • Windows Server 2003/2008
  • Exchange 2007
  • Microsoft SQL 2005/2008
  • Active Directory
  • Group Policy
  • VSphere
  • VRangerPro
  • BackupExec
  • SharePoint
  • Sophos endpoint protection
  • SCCM
  • Server builds
  • Switches and Firewalls
  • HP Servers, Desktops and Laptops
  • Writing and updating system documentation
