National Tertiary Education Industry Union

The National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU) represents 26,000 academic and general staff in Universities and other tertiary education providers.

The NTEU is seeking a new member for its National Office industrial team based in Melbourne, who may be expected to travel interstate on a regular basis.

NTEU will be seeking a highly motivated staff member with an appropriate mix of skills and expertise, drawn from the following: Capacity to run industrial campaigns, including the writing and production of campaign materials Writing of accessible industrial content for publication by the Union Servicing of industrial needs of the Unions Branches, Divisions, Executive, Council and Committees including the provision of high-level industrial advice Preparation of contemporary information for members supporting the Unions strategic objectives.

High level analysis and production of reports including financial research and strategic objectives.

High level analysis and production of reports including financial research and analysis relevant to bargaining.

Development and implementation of industrial and bargaining strategies.

Research, preparation and advocacy of cases before Fair Work Australia.

It is expected that the person appointed will have a commitment to unionism, experience in industrial negotiations and/or high level research, writing and campaign skills.

A knowledge of the tertiary education industry would be an advantage.

Salary in the range of $82,815 to $91,433 (plus 17% super) will be negotiated.
