Lesson Plans

Intent of classroom activities
1. The theme for all lessons is that unions help us to promote a fair society;
2. The concept of unions should be considered in an integrated way when work and employment issues are investigated, not separately.
3. When studying work and employment issues, students should try relate to their own work experience, including casual jobs or work experience placements.
4. The syllabus outcomes related to the key competencies of:
· collecting, analysing and organising information;
· communicating ideas and information
. planning and organising activities;
· working with others and in teams
. should be a focus of the learning reported in the School to Work logbook.
5. The links on this site should be used to assist students to research information about issues, terms and concepts
6. The issues addressed should relate closely to the needs of young people

Implementing the activities
The activities have been structured in a way that they can be modified, consolidated, extended or made more challenging.

The following classroom activities focus on the achievement of Work Education 2003 syllabus outcomes.

Activities and printed factsheets can be stored in students' School to Work logbooks.
